The Division 2's next major content update delayed to February 2022

Ubisoft has announced that The Division 2's next big update, which was supposed to roll out to players in "late 2021," has been delayed to February 2022, which is already absolutely stacked for new game releases.

The division 2

Back in March, Ubisoft revealed that The Division 2's next major update would bring with it a new game mode that hasn't featured in the franchise before and potentially some new ways to progress your agent. As it turns out, it seems The Division 2 development team needs some additional time to get these new additions up to snuff.

"Earlier this year, we shared our commitment to continue to support The Division 2 and work with new partners within Ubisoft to keep on improving the game experience for all our players," a post on Ubisoft's website reads. "Since then, our team has been hard at work to develop exciting new content with a new game mode as well as significant endgame changes & features.

"While plans were still being actively discussed at that point, it was critical for us to give you some early insights about what would come next for the game. Since then, we made various iterations on the plans and actively challenged ourselves not to compromise on quality and ambitions for this new content. This title update will be one of our most ambitious to date.

"We remain confident that this content will bring an exciting experience to our players and pave the way for the future of The Division 2, with future title updates coming in 2022. That being said, and to make sure we deliver this content on par with our vision, we have made the decision to move our new season, game mode and associated content release to February 2022."

Ubisoft says the additional time will allow the development team to produce and deliver "the best quality for this new content."

At the moment, the team says it's still too early to share details on this update, but we can expect a reveal, along with information on The Division 2's next season in January 2022. Also, at the end of Season 7 in December Ubisoft will be organising an in-game event and reintroducing "some player-favourite global events, associated with new rewards and an apparel event."

The Division 2's next major title update will roll out to players in February, which is already a big month in terms of new games and big game updates. Dying Light 2, Horizon: Forbidden West, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen expansion, Elden Ring, and the new Saints Row reboot are all currently down for February launches.

Thanks to RDS for the heads-up.
