Xbox One officially discontinued as of 2020

Production of all new Xbox One consoles was discontinued back in 2020, Microsoft has now revealed.

Xbox One S

Back in July 2020, Microsoft stopped manufacturing the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital ahead of the Xbox Series X|S launch but did continue producing the standard Xbox One S. Understandably, production of the One S wasn't kept up for long, as revealed in a statement given to The Verge. Microsoft's senior director of Xbox console product marketing, Cindy Walker, said, "To focus on production of Xbox Series X|S, we stopped production for all Xbox One consoles by the end of 2020."

This is in contrast to Sony who is still producing PS4 consoles today and, according to a new report, plans to manufacture another 1 million PS4 consoles in 2022 to offset the pressure on the company's PS5 production.

The original Xbox One launched back in November 2013 and was followed by the Xbox One S in 2016 and the Xbox One X a year later. In 2019, Microsoft launched an all-digital version of the One S.
