Need for Speed and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequels reportedly coming in 2022 By Tom West, 21 Jan 2022 FollowtopicsStar Wars Jedi: Fallen OrderStar WarsElectronic ArtsEA PlayXbox Game PassAction-AdventureTom West EA is reportedly expecting to release a new entry into the Need for Speed series later this year, as well as the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with a potential announcement coming on May 4th... predictably. The news comes via reputable insider Tom Henderson on Twitter (thanks, VGC), who has reported that EA is apparently aiming to launch both games in Q4 of this year, with Need for Speed having a more specific window of September or October. Criterion's upcoming Need for Speed title was delayed into 2023 back in March 2021 so the studio could assist with Battlefield 2042, but now that DICE's shooter is out, the team must be back on its original project. The currently unannounced Need for Speed is expected to launch on current and previous generations of consoles, according to EA's Laura Miele during a Polygon interview.Henderson also dropped a second tweet, reporting that Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel is "expected" to launch in Q4 2022. According to Henderson, following the announcement that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is releasing in April, it's likely that we'll see Respawn's title announced on May 4th — which is Star Wars Day, if you've been living in a galaxy, far, far, away.It was also recently reported that Respawn's third title is still in development, even though the game's creative director has left the studio. According to VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb, the game isn't a sequel to Titanfall and Titanfall 2.What do you make of these reports? Are you itching to burn some rubber, or play with colourful sticks?
