EA Sports has announced Grand Slam Tennis 2
for the Xbox 360 for 2012. The first Grand Slam
game never saw the light of day on Xbox 360, becoming a Wii-exclusive as HD iterations of the game were "delayed indefinitely" (they were cancelled). Grand Slam Tennis 2
is notable because it is the only next-generation tennis game to feature the prestigious Wimbledon courts and tournament. The game will feature top players, past and present, to go along with the other three major tournaments (French Open, Australian Open, US Open) that make up the 'Grand Slam' of tennis to give you that authentic feel, all in HD for the first time.
The cartoon look of the Wii game will not carry over to the Xbox 360 sequel, as players, surfaces, and stadiums appear to adhere to the "Real Tennis" EA touts in the unveiling trailer. Check out the trailer below for some amazing rendering of knees, and an introduction to Xbox 360's newest tennis sim:
Grand Slam Tennis 2
looks to compete with current tennis offerings Virtua Tennis 4
and Top Spin 4
when it releases in 2012.
