Halo Infinite dev hints at return of classic Halo maps By Sean Carey, 09 May 2022 FollowtopicsHalo InfiniteHaloXbox Game StudiosFree to PlayXbox Game PassXbox Series X|SFirst Person ShooterSean Carey With Halo Infinite Season 2 running for six months, fans have begun to question what sort of new content will be coming to the game in that time. 343 has now hinted that classic Halo maps could be coming to Halo Infinite. In an interview with the Kinda Funny Xcast, 343 Industries' Joseph Staten was asked by host Parris Lilly if multiplayer maps from older Halo games could be added to Halo Infinite to fill out the lengthy Season 2 period. Will classic Halo maps come to Halo Infinite?"That's a good idea, Parris," Staten said while stroking his chin. "All kidding aside. I can talk about some things, but I can't talk about others. There are some great Halo maps. I think we all have our personal favourite. Guardian, Blood Gulch, The Pit... there are a lot of maps that are awesome, right? I think it'd be awesome to play on those maps again, don't you guys? That sounds like a fun thing."While Staten doesn't outright promise anything here, it certainly sounds like some old maps could be coming to Halo Infinite in the future. Just when they will arrive, if at all, remains up for debate. Season 2 brought with it just two new maps, Catalyst and Breaker, and while that's something, it clearly won't be enough to satiate the Halo Infinite fanbase for six months — introducing older maps sounds like a great way to keep everyone engaged. In other Halo news, 343 said it was "taking feedback seriously" following the bumpy launch of Season 2. While many much-loved glitches and jumps have been patched out with the new season, it did bring something good news for achievement hunters: The Medic! achievement is now finally unlockable.
