Starfield and Redfall delayed

By Heidi Nicholas,

Bethesda Game Studios has just confirmed a delay for both its sci-fi RPG Starfield and its vampire-slaying co-op shooter Redfall, with both games now expected to launch in the first half of 2023.

Starfield was one of the most highly-anticipated launches of 2022, so it's a shame to see it pushed back to the first half of 2023 along with Arkane's Redfall.

When will Starfield launch?

"We've made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023," Bethesda says. "The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them.

"We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating." The devs do say that we'll see the "first deep dive" into gameplay for Redfall and Starfield "soon."

"We can't wait for you to play Starfield, but we need some more time," Bethesda Game Studios concludes. "We’re so thankful for all the support and encouragement and are excited to show you the game soon."

Starfield and Redfall will both now launch in the first half of 2023. What do you think of the delay? Let us know in the comments!
