By Heidi Nicholas,

Developer Velan Studios has announced that Knockout City is now free-to-play as the game's sixth season kicks off with a Brawl Pass, new Crew Contracts, a Boomerang Ball, new updates to the Hideout, Among Us cosmetics, and more.

Knockout City is now officially free-to-play, with the devs confirming that you don't need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play either. Season 6: City of Tomorrow has also kicked off with new content and features.

Knockout City goes free-to-play alongside Season 6

Velan Studios explains that Season 6 of Knockout City, titled City of Tomorrow, "is packed with content and features for new and existing players alike. Boomerang Ball, Hideout activities, Loss Forgiveness, new Events, new Playlists, and so much more makes this the most exciting Season yet." You can check out the patch notes for all the info, but aside from going free-to-play, the biggest news is Season 6.

"The Super Science Symposium has come to Knockout City, along with a massive haul of super-science themed cosmetics to earn and buy," we're told. Season 6 also comes with a Brawl Pass — the premium edition of the Brawl Pass has 100 levels of rewards, while the free edition of the Brawl Pass also contains Among Us-themed cosmetics along with ten Deep Space Dispatches. Along with Season 6's League Play and Crew Contracts, we'll also see the Boomerang Ball added to all playlists in Street Play, League Play, Private Match, and the Hideout. The Hideout also has new updates with new areas and activities.

There's a whole lot more in those patch notes — but what do you think of Knockout City going free-to-play? Let us know in the comments!
