Sonic Generations Brings a Trailer to Gamescom

The much anticipated addition to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and the game that players hope will revive their gaming icon, Sonic Generations, had, up until now, only featured evidence of Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic being present in the trailers, with Metal Sonic making an appearance in the last set of screenshots. That has now changed with the appearance of the game at this year's Gamescom event in Cologne.

The hedgehogs will no longer be relying on each other to save the world when a mysterious power triggers time holes and drags Modern Sonic and his friends into the past. The latest trailer confirms the appearance of Classic Tails and his modern-day counterpart as the pair try to save their friends and find out who is behind the anomalies. Perhaps hinting towards the answer to the last bit of that sentence, a metal version of Sonic's old nemesis Dr Robotnik (or Dr Eggman to traditionalists) also makes a cameo appearance:



Those of you who can't wait any longer and pre-order the game at select retailers will receive the Special Edition pre-order bonus. Some of you may not have seen details of this previously, so here's a quick summary of the extra content:

Sonic Generations is due to be released in November 2011.
