Silent Hill meets Fatal Frame in DreadOut 2, coming to Xbox in July

By Luke Albigés,

DreadOut 2 is coming to Xbox on July 15th, channelling the classic horror action of the Silent Hill and Fatal Frame series for a blood-soaked ghost-hunting adventure inspired by Indonesian folklore.

Third-person horror adventure DreadOut 2 released on PC a few years ago to a fair bit of acclaim, and is finally coming to consoles next month. While the first game (also on PC, way back in 2014) was closer to Fatal Frame/Project Zero due to its focus on using a camera to deal with ghostly enemies, this sequel builds on that with more traditional melee combat while still using a phone camera to stun and document the horrors you discover. Check out the trailer for some old-school horror vibes... and a lot of blood.

DreadOut 2 Xbox release date trailer

DreadOut 2 is described as "a third-person horror adventure that draws inspiration from Indonesian folklore and urban legend. Play as Linda Meillinda, a high school student with a supernatural power — the ability to sense and see ghosts. With the aid of her trusty smartphone, Linda must hunt the nightmarish spirits and dark forces that threaten not only her hometown, but all of mankind."

Looking forward to giving DreadOut 2 a try when it launches for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on July 15th? Let us know!
