Microsoft brought yet another of their games, Kinect Star Wars
to the Gamescom event in Cologne this week. The appearance revealed that for the first time in Star Wars history, players can assume the role of a Rancor. Die hard Star Wars fans will know that this is the monster that Luke Skywalker faces in battle beneath the throne of Jabba the Hutt in the Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi
Players will use body movements like stomping, charging, roaring, and jumping to control the Rancor as the character grabs, throws and eats his multiple enemies, such as Jawas, stormtroopers and droids. The monster can also pull attacking TIE fighters out of the sky, battle against AT-STs, and cause wanton destruction along the way. Here are some new screenshots of the Rancor in action:
The Jedi mode has been seen previously at other games conferences, but Microsoft also released new screenshots for that mode too:
The Podracing mode was first revealed at the San Diego Comic Con. Players are tasked with racing alongside the surviving competitors at the Boonta Event Classic. Many vehicles from the Star Wars universe, including some of the more memorable Pods, can be unlocked in this mode. Here are some re-released screenshots of this mode:Kinect Star Wars
