High on Life goes full Interdimensional Cable in two weird shorts

By Heidi Nicholas,

Since High on Life is coming from Rick & Morty creator Justin Roiland, it was a fair bet that it would have its own particular, peculiar way of hyping up players before launch — such as Guy in Hole and The Brand New This.

High on Life, Justin Roiland's "triple-I game", is set to launch into Xbox Game Pass in October. Usually we'd expect some gameplay footage or a cinematic trailer, but instead, Squanch Games has opted to release two great (and entirely random) shorts to prepare players for... well, who knows. Check them out below:

High on Life launches into Xbox Game Pass on October 25th

"Fresh out of high school with no job and no ambition, you've really got nothing going for you until an alien cartel that wants to get high off humanity invades Earth," we're told. "Now, you and a team of charismatic talking guns must answer the hero's call and become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen." We'll travel around, exploring planets, collecting loot, taking out Garmantuous's gang, and meeting the kind of weird characters you'd expect from Roiland's comedy adventure game.
Don't forget, High on Life was included in Microsoft's list of 50 games coming to Xbox and PC over the next year, and we can check out High on Life when it launches into Xbox Game Pass on October 25th. Does High on Life look like your kind of thing? Will you be playing on day one? What did we just watch? Let us know what you think in the comments.
