Fable sees ex-Control and Dishonored writer fill in narrative lead role

By Tom West,

Fable's new narrative lead, Anna Megill, previously joined Playground Games back in 2021 as a lead writer on the reboot but will now be in charge of crafting the game's story.

Anna Megill has a huge amount of experience in the industry, with previous works including Remedy Entertainment's Control and Arkane Studios' Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Now Megill will be crafting the story in Playground Games' Fable reboot as the narrative lead.

Anna Megill promoted to narrative lead for Fable reboot

After previously joining Playground Games' Fable team as a lead writer in February 2021, Megill will now be aiding in the game's direction and story as the narrative lead. Looking at LinkedIn, Megill has a huge amount of experience to draw on, which includes Control, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Guild Wars, Murdered: Soul Suspect, and more.

Playground Game's Fable has been pretty quiet as of late, and its absence was noticed during the recent Xbox & Bethesda Showcase for Summer Game Fest. It'll be interesting to see what Megill will be offering us, once Fable is in a showable state.

What do you make of this news? Is there anything in particular that you'd like to see the reboot carry over from the original trilogy? How about an achievement for trading weapons with other players? Let us know down in the comments!
