EA responds to Skate 4 leak

By Heidi Nicholas,

The EA Skate team has responded to the footage of the new upcoming Skate game which was leaked online without EA's authorisation, and reminded players it was from an earlier version of the game "never intended for external use."

Firstly, the update thanks fans for their response to their "still working on it" video for the new Skate game (shown below). The team then addresses the leak, which has since been posted on reddit, and reminds players that the build "was never intended for external use."
"We’re aware of an earlier version of the game that has been distributed without our authorisation. This build is from September 2021 and was never intended for external use," the team says. "While we understand you’re excited to get into the game, we encourage you to be careful when downloading files from unknown sources (and remind you of the potential consequences of breaking EA’s Terms of Service)." The update adds that "the best way to get the chance to play is by signing up for skate. insider playtesting" which you can do on the skate. site. At the moment, playtests are only on PC, but the plan is to "expand testing" to other platforms too.

"Thank you once again for your incredible support! We feel very blessed to have a community this passionate," the post concludes, reminding us that we'll have more information on Thursday. We'll be sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, what do you think of EA's response, and of what we've seen of the new Skate game so far? Let us know in the comments!
