Warframe dev announces new free-to-play MMORPG, Soulframe

By Tom West,

During Tennocon, Warframe's yearly expo, Digital Extremes announced Soulframe, a free-to-play MMORPG that's in early development... and it features a giant wolf friend!

Digital Extremes didn't reveal too much about its upcoming F2P MMORPG, Soulframe, so we don't have platform details or a huge amount to go on, but it was a great announcement to see during Tennocon 2022 either way, the yearly expo that gives us a heap of Warframe goodness to look forward to in the following year.

“With Soulframe’s worldbuilding and thematic elements, we are really looking to go back to our childhood favourites like Never Ending Story and those elaborate fantasy worlds,” Soulframe creative director Geoff Crookes said in the announcement post. “Our team has a fond love for Miyazki and Princess Mononoke where there are recurring concepts of nature and humanity colliding and we’ll be exploring a lot of those themes through our own lens while playing with ideas of restoration and exploration.”

Check out the awesome cinematic trailer above to see the intriguing world that Digital Extremes is offering in Soulframe — and the huge wolf friend that's pretty much the only reason we needed to like this game. The devs are promising a "transparent, collaborative, and iterative process shaped alongside the passion of players and Digital Extremes," so it might be worth keeping an eye on the development process and the game's website.
