The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a Metroidvania adventure inspired by everything from Lovecraft to jazz music, launches into Xbox Game Pass next year, which the devs say is "a huge deal for a small studio like ours."

Revealed during the Xbox & Bethesda showcase, The Last Case of Benedict Fox looks to be an intriguingly dark adventure about a demon and detective. We spoke to developer Plot Twist's creative director and lead game designer, Bartek Lesiakowski, about the game coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox joins Xbox Game Pass on day one

"It’s hard to put into words just how much of a positive influence Game Pass will have on our game," Lesiakowski explains. "It opens up a door for a multitude of different players playing Benedict and, fingers crossed, falling in love with it and its genre. It’s a huge deal for a small studio like ours."

The Last Case of Benedict Fox sees detective Benedict and his demon companion bound together in a dark investigation into a gruesome murder and a disappearance — with the added twist that the duo can explore the minds of those who have recently died to look for more clues. Lesiakowski dove into much more detail about the game in our full The Last Case of Benedict Fox interview — keep an eye out for that this weekend if you fancy reading more about it!
