Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora delayed to 2023-2024

By Heidi Nicholas,

Ubisoft has delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which was originally planned to launch in 2022. The open-world action-adventure game is now looking to release in 2023-2024.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was announced back in 2021 and given a 2022 launch window, but according to Ubisoft's reports for the first quarter of 2022-2023, the game has been pushed back to 2023-2024.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been delayed out of 2022

"Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will now release in 2023-24," the report tells us. "We are committed to delivering a cutting-edge immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology, as this amazing global entertainment brand represents a major multi-year opportunity for Ubisoft."

So it seems we'll have a longer wait for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which is "built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC," and which offers us "the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience." Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be its own new story and sees us "play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it."
