Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation exclusive quest won't hit Xbox for a year

By Heidi Nicholas,

The PlayStation exclusive quest for Hogwarts Legacy has now been detailed, and PlayStation players will get a "shop of your own," along with a cosmetic set and an extra dungeon. This content will be exclusive for one year.

Hogwarts Legacy launches on February 10th, 2023, and it's now been confirmed that the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, which will be exclusive to PlayStation players at launch, will remain exclusive to PlayStation consoles for one year until February 10th, 2024, when Xbox players can presumably get their hands on it.

PlayStation exclusive quest The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop will remain exclusive for one year

So, as for what will be exclusive to PlayStation players at launch: the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, an extra dungeon, the shopkeeper's cosmetic set, and an in-game shop for the player to sell wares will be exclusive on PlayStation until 2024. Preordering on PlayStation also unlocks the recipe for the Felix Felicis potion, which can be used to temporarily mark gear chests on the game's map.

As for the quest itself: "This mysterious quest is built into the core game and can be discovered by any witch or wizard playing on PlayStation," WB Games Avalanche community manager Chandler Wood says. "Cassandra Mason has a shop to sell you in Hogsmeade, but all is not as it seems in this run-down establishment. What sinister secrets lie beneath Madam Mason’s shop and why was she so keen to sell it? That’s a mystery Hogwarts Legacy players will discover in the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest exclusively available on PlayStation platforms."

This is the first mention of a shop for the player to sell things themselves, too, as "overcoming these challenges will reward you with a shop of your own where you can sell items and gear at better rates than anywhere else."

We now have a date for how long this content will remain exclusive, too, with the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest remaining exclusive until February 10th, 2024.
