GTA 6 leak sees a whopping 90 alleged gameplay videos uploaded online

By Sean Carey,

Over 90 videos of what appear to show GTA 6 gameplay have leaked online, with the leaker also claiming to have the source code for Rockstar's upcoming open world game.

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier now says that the GTA 6 leak is real after confirming it with Rockstar sources.

Original Story:
User 'teapotuberhacker' has posted a 3GB file over on GTA Forums that look to contain Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay videos. The leaker says that they may "leak more data soon," including GTA 5 and GTA 6 source code, assets, and a GTA 6 test build.

Alleged Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leak shows Vice City, female character, combat, and more

Although the leak is yet to be confirmed as genuine, the general consensus among social media users is that the files do contain real gameplay footage from early GTA 6 builds dating back to 2019. One clip shows a character on a 'Vice City Metro' train, while another shows a 'Pegassi' car, a vehicle brand found in previous Grand Theft Auto games. Other videos show a female playable character, combat, and parts of GTA 6's open world. In total, there are around eight minutes of footage.

If legitimate, the videos would back up claims that GTA 6 will feature a female playable protagonist and that the open-world game is set in Vice City.

Earlier this year, Rockstar confirmed that development for "the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series" was well underway. A few months later, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reported that GTA 6 was at least two years away, but if the leak is true, and teapotuberhacker does have the game's source code as they claim, it could possibly push the game back further.
