PUBG: Battlegrounds and now The Callisto Protocol developer, Krafton, has announced that a AAA adaption of the Korean dark fantasy series The Bird That Drinks Tears is in active development. The project is currently untitled and we're yet to find out what platforms it'll be coming to, but we do have a visual concept trailer to get us excited.

The Bird That Drinks Tears visual concept trailer

The visual concept trailer above is designed in Unreal Engine 5 and features character designs from Iain McCraig, who's worked on franchises like Star Wars and Marvel. According to a press release, the trailer is designed to showcase what we can expect from Krafton's future projects based on The Bird That Drinks Tears IP and is "positioned to guide the aesthetic and tonal directions of various multimedia projects," such as the game, a graphic novel, and a motion picture.

A full artbook of Iain McCraig's works is set to launch later this year for fans of the series, with the aforementioned graphic novel following in 2023.
