Slime Rancher 2 smashes dev's "pipe dream" for sales

By Heidi Nicholas,

Slime Rancher 2 is now available with Xbox Game Pass, and game director Nick Popovich has confirmed that the game is off to a great start: it sold over 300,000 copies in "just a few days."

Slime Rancher 2 has been out for less than a week, and has already sold over 300,000 copies, as confirmed by Monomi Park's Nick Popovich.

Slime Rancher 2 has already sold over 300,000 copies

"Wow! In just a few days Slime Rancher 2 has sold more than 300k copies, and reached #1 on Steam, w/a 95% positive score across over 6k reviews," Popovich says. "Most importantly, this was all achieved with ZERO crunch, while offering top tier benefits and unlimited PTO to our team. Thank you!"

On the day Slime Rancher released, Popovich also said that "the last hour has beaten our best sales day ever at Monomi Park by a literal order of magnitude," later adding, "I had a pipe dream in my head that we could sell 100k copies of Slime Rancher 2 in the first 24 hrs if the stars aligned. And we did that in less than 6 hrs. No idea where this crazy train is headed but so grateful to have a chance to ride it. Thank you all so very much."

Slime Rancher 2 is gorgeous; we've loved what we've seen so far, and, as Popovich told us in our Slime Rancher 2 interview, it really does seem to offer "a warm bath of a game world."
