Sonic CD Coming to XBLA

By Mark Delaney,
Xbox LIVE spokesperson Larry Hryb, better known by his gamertag Major Nelson, casually revealed via a blog update that the classic Sega CD title, Sonic CD, will be coming soon to the LIVE download market, and will also be shown at PAX Prime.

Of course, it isn't the first retro title featuring the sneaker-sporting hedgehog to be made available on XBLA. There's, in fact, no shortage of Sonic on XBLA with titles like Sonic The Hedgehog (Arcade), and its two sequels, as well as Sonic & Knuckles, and Dreamcast's Sonic Adventure all available. But Sonic's biggest fans haven't been entirely pleased with his current-gen games. So while they wait to judge the upcoming Sonic Generations, fans can play yet another highly-touted iteration in the hedgehog's franchise.

Here's the blog post from Major Nelson:

No further details have yet been revealed but as PAX Prime kicks off in a few days (August 26th-28th; Seattle, Washington) it'd be a safe bet that we'll here more about this upcoming release.
