Black Knight Sword Debut Trailer Unveiled

During the Gamescom expo last week, Goichi Suda, aka "Suda 51", took the opportunity to announce and showcase his newest game currently in development.

The latest game, called Black Knight Sword, is being developed by his team, Grasshopper Manufacture, in collaboration with European based Digital Reality, and utilizes Epic's Unreal technology.

The official trailer is 3:25 minutes long, and gives a very brief synopsis of the game's storyline, but unfortunately reveals very little else.

Luckily, we also have some additional screenshots which give an indication of the unique visual presentation, which according to Suda, is one of the key aims for the development team.

The game is set up to appear like a paper theatre or a pop-up book, and although the characters and backgrounds are 3D, the gameplay is described as a ".. throwback to the old school classic sidescrolling action games ... so it has very nostalgic feel", according to the development team. This distinctive style can be clearly seen in the screenshots.

Black Knight Sword is scheduled for release on XBLA this coming winter, but as of yet, no official release date or pricing have been given.
