The upcoming, direct sequel to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, has been receiving much attention lately. Most recently, we've seen that a moogle can fly and heard what the game's developers had to say about the trailers which have been released so far.
Today, we have a brand new trailer for the title, which I'll introduce a little more in the next paragraph. I'm just giving anyone who is reading this without having beaten Final Fantasy XIII a chance to avoid spoilers (though, if you've read this far, you probably assumed some would be here by now).
Ok, appropriate parties looking away? Good. The new trailer asks the question 'what happened to Lightning'? Remember that the events in Final Fantasy XIII-2 take place five years after the close of FFXIII. While we know the characters reunited at that point, the intervening years have seen Lightning fall off the grid, and the fate of Serah's sister has become increasingly unclear.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is due to be released in Japan in December 2011, January 2012 in North America and sometime in early 2012 in Europe.
