The Witcher 3 reveals Xbox Series X gameplay

By Heidi Nicholas,

CD Projekt Red revealed Xbox Series X gameplay for the upcoming upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt today, as well as other details about what we can expect with the update.

Update: The stream has happened, and we can now feast our eyes on Xbox Series X gameplay for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's upcoming upgrade, as well as an upgrade trailer (the trailer features PC footage, but worry not, we have included the stream too).
According to CDPR's stream, the upgrade will bring Performance and Quality modes, ray tracing, adjusted perspectives for the camera, and more. Those cosmetics based on Netflix's The Witcher series will also apparently be accompanied by a quest, although the office is divided on its opinion of the optional appearance for Dandelion.

Original story: CD Projekt Red will reveal gameplay for the Xbox Series X|S upgrade of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt today, as well as other details about what we can expect with the update.

The upcoming free Xbox Series X|S update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt arrives on December 14th, but we'll get a first look at the upgrade's gameplay later today at 5pm GMT/6pm CET on CDPR's Twitch channel.

We'll see the gameplay reveal for the Xbox Series X|S upgrade for The Witcher 3 later today

"Enhanced with the power of next-gen consoles and modern PC hardware in mind, the upcoming update will feature dozens of visual, performance and technical enhancements, including ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, a variety of mods integrated into the experience, and much more," CDPR says. "On top of that, we’re adding a set of DLCs inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series, such as new weapons and armour for Geralt and alternative looks for select characters." The update will be free if you already own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — the Game of the Year Edition is currently 80% off in the Xbox Black Friday sale — and CDPR also has plans to release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition. If you already own the game you'll also get an update "featuring numerous additions and improvements, as well as the Netflix Witcher-themed DLC" — perhaps we'll hear more about this in today's stream too.

CDPR's stream kicks off today at 5pm GMT/6pm CET — will you be tuning in to watch? In the meantime, we can admire The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year edition sitting at the top of our list of the best Xbox open world games, exactly where it should be.
