The Witcher 3 Xbox Series X|S update patch notes won't give everything away

By Heidi Nicholas,

The Xbox Series X|S update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will bring all sorts of improvements and new content, but it seems even the patch notes won't give away every surprise.

We'll soon have a brilliant excuse to start a new playthrough — or go after those last The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt achievements — when the Xbox Series X|S update for the game arrives on December 14th. We can expect a number of changes, and it seems CD Projekt Red will also leave some new details unannounced, for players to find themselves.

Speaking to Eurogamer about some of the changes and new additions we can expect with the update, acting narrative director Philipp Weber says, "Roach can walk backwards now. Or actually, if Roach is standing there's even now a hidden button that you can kick. Or I think Roach now lifts her head if you're in the water." Even more intriguingly, Weber adds, "We tried to put in lots of these small things for people to just find, that we won't even put into the patch notes."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt should keep us busy for a while, but there's plenty more Witcher content to expect in the future — we know The Witcher Remake is on the way, but that'll come after the first game of the new Witcher trilogy, codenamed Polaris.

There's just one week to go until The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Xbox Series X|S update is here — in the meantime, you can find out which Witcher school you're in with the official Witcher quiz .
