Dead Rising 2: Off The Record Sandbox Mode

By Rebecca Smith, 5 years ago
When people say that they aren't a fan of the Dead Rising series, one of their major gripes is the clock that indicates their game time slowly ticking away. Capcom has taken this to heart, and their newest iteration of the series, Dead Rising 2: Off The Record will come with a sandbox mode, as well as the campaign. I'll let Frank tell you all about it:

I'm not one to hold you back. I'm not one to tell you what to do or where to go. If it's up to me you can all go to hell as long as you kick some dead ass on the way there. That's why I insisted we all be free to go crazy over in Dead Rising 2: Off The Record and that's why we have something called sandbox mode. See what you can see and do a little damage. Hell, do a LOT of damage.
The sandbox mode will be available to players straight out of the box, and will support both single and co-op play. As well as the absence of the clock, there will be a variety of challenges, many of which can be seen in the video below. The modes include:

Rooftop Massacre: Kill as many zombies as possible in 30 seconds.
Silver Strip Smackdown: Gain as much PP as possible in 60 seconds.
Shutter Bug: Gain as much PP as possible in 60 seconds from photographs only.
Peep Show Peers: Kill as many zombies as possible in 2 minutes in co-op mode.
Chug! Chug! Chug!: Drink as much alcohol as possible in 3 minutes in co-op mode.

Players are awarded medals based on their performance, and the challenges will have leaderboard support too.

Here are a trio of screenshots for those of you who can't view the trailer:
