343 Industries has shared a statement in the wake of the news of Microsoft laying off 10,000 employees to say, "Halo and Master Chief are here to stay."

After Microsoft's announcement that it was laying off 10,000 employees — with layoffs set to hit several Xbox Game Studios including Bethesda, The Coalition, and 343 Industries — 343 has shared a statement to assure Halo fans that "Halo and Master Chief are here to stay."

343 Industries addresses Halo fans in the wake of Microsoft's layoffs

"Halo and Master Chief are here to stay. 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great," says studio head Pierre Hintze, after additional reports surfaced last week which claimed that 343 wouldn't be as involved with upcoming Halo games.

Along with Microsoft laying off 10,000 employees, reports suggest that head of creative for Halo Infinite, Joseph Staten, will be leaving 343 and will return to Xbox Game Studios publishing.

What do you make of Hintze and 343's statement? Let us know in the comments.
