By Tom West,

Evil Dead: The Game has received a free update on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One which adds a 40-player Splatter Royale mode, weapons, and more.

Stepping into the shoes of a Deadite, players can now experience hell on earth in Evil Dead: The Game's Splatter Royale mode on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It comes as a free update for all players and also packs in two new weapons: the long-range grenade launcher and the scythe.

In Splatter Royale, up to 40 players will fight to be the last one standing as a Deadite, but as a bonus, your Deadite can be a version of any Survivor or Demon in the game, including DLC characters and outfits. This extends to Ruby Knowby as well, who joins the game alongside Splatter Royale as paid DLC, and sees Ash vs Evil Dead's Lucy Lawless reprise her role. Splatter Royale promises "fast-paced, cutthroat action," which is aided further by the inclusion of the new long-range grenade launcher and scythe weapons. On top of this, Pablo's "Kandarian Facelift" outfit is available to everyone for free.

Ruby Knowby joins the game via the Immortal Power DLC for £7.99/$9.99. As a Dark One, Ruby can increase her possession resistance, increase weapon damage, and regenerate health alongside consuming souls for her ultimate ability. As well as the new character, the Immortal Power DLC also includes the 'King of the White Frost' outfit for the Puppeteer Demon, the 'Party Animal' outfit for Ash vs Evil Dead, the 'Scourge of Evil' outfit for Kelly, and the 'Fish n' Chips' outfit for Pablo.

We love getting things for free, if you do too, check out some of the best free Xbox games; there are some fantastic battle royale games in there.
