Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Hunting Party Announced

Back in June, we announced that this year's Cabela title would be Kinect-enabled. If the usual pattern of the bi-annual series was to be followed, that would mean that Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2012 was to be the one. When that game was announced, no mention was made of Kinect. Over a month later, a spin-off title Cabela's Survival: Shadows of Katmai was also announced, but that wasn't Kinect-enabled either. Was Activision misleading us?

The answer is "no". Fans of the Cabela franchise are going to be spoilt this year, as Activision has announced a third title in the franchise to hit the shelves before the Holiday season. Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Hunting Party is a surprise addition to the Big Game Hunter series, and appears to be the first hybrid Kinect / controller game to be heading to the console.

The arcade shooter features a series of shooting galleries where players have to jump, dodge and weave around branches, rocks and angry wildlife as they grab power-ups along the way. The Top Shot Sport peripheral will come bundled with the game, and players will use the gun to shoot their way across a wide range of environments, including Texas, British Columbia, Sonora Mexico and Tanzania, towards a successful hunt. The peripheral will include features like pump action reload, an adjustable stock and pop-up tactical sight.

Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Hunting Party is due to be released on November 1st, 2011; the same day as Cabela's Survival: Shadows of Katmai is also due to hit the shelves. In case you were wondering, Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2012 is due to arrive later this month on September 27th.
