Season 12: Rip Daring and the Cryptid Hunt has now arrived in Fallout 76, tasking you with aiding Rip on his dangerous journey for the promise of S.C.O.R.E. Joining in with the fun will see you work through the ranks to unlock a host of rewards, including cosmetics, consumables, and of course, currency. Naturally, you'll need to survive your encounters, so good luck with that!

Alongside the new Season, Bethesda has dropped the Mutation Invasion update that gives Public Events a slight twist and improves Daily Ops. As the name suggests, this update adds Mutations to Fallout 76's Public Events, which increases their difficulty but also offers up some rare items for you to collect. Every hour, one random Mutated Public Event will appear, highlighted on the map with a unique icon, and will feature enemies with special conditions like Reflective Skin and Active Camouflage. Taking down those creatures will see you handsomely rewarded, with the chance to earn yourself XP, Legendary items, Treasury Notes, and Mutated Packages. As a bonus, whether you're a subscriber or not, completing the events with Fallout 1st players will see everyone receive extra loot.

Daily Ops have also received some improvements, as aliens are now part of the fun. You also have a chance to visit three new Daily Ops locations to pick up the challenging quests: Capitol Building, Garrahan Mining Headquarters, and Morgantown High School — grab some friends and get hunting.

Fallout 76 can be played via Xbox Game Pass, so once you've beaten back the Cryptid threat and are looking for what to play next, why not check out some of the games coming to Game Pass this year? Will you be heading to Appalachia for this latest batch of in-game activities? Let us know down below!
