GSC Game World announces S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Board Game crowdfunding campaign

By Tom West,

GSC Game World has announced that it has partnered with Awaken Realms for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Board Game. The crowdfunding campaign is set to appear on Gamefound later this year.

While we wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl to launch on Xbox Series X|S later this year as one of the games coming to Game Pass, GSC Game World has given us some more franchise goodness to look forward to: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Board Game. It's partnered with Awaken Realms to make the tabletop variant a reality, and it'll be looking for your backing in late Q2 2023 when its campaign goes live on the crowdfunding site, Gamefound.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Board Game reveal trailer

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Board Game is a tabletop expansion of GSC Game World's post-apocalyptic video games set inside the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. It's designed for one-to-four players, each controlling your own Stalker, as you work together through story-drive "zone crawling" gameplay. Each of the game's stories will consist of two-to-four scenarios for you to work through, with each of them taking around two hours to complete. You'll be tasked with fighting off mutants, undertaking stealth missions, hunting artefacts, surviving tactical gunfights, and more. Each Stalker will be unique, and you'll need to upgrade your skills and gear between the scenarios if you hope to survive the dangers of The Zone.

The campaign will begin on Gamefound.com sometime in late Q2 2023, so we don't have long to wait. Players that follow the campaign before it's live will receive a free Monster Hunter character pack after backing the game, so it could be worth popping over there now.
