When the Orks invade Forge World Graia, it is up to the genetically modified Space Marines to defend the Imperium. We've seen all the videos
about what brings us to the events which unfold in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
, but how exactly will the war be won?
It goes without saying that Captain Titus and his crew wouldn't get very far in this battle if they didn't have an array of awesome weapons with which to take down their enemies. It would also perhaps be useful to you to know a thing or two about these weapons before jumping into the game. To that end, Square has released three trailers in their 'Only War' video series, which showcase some of the weapons you will use in Space Marine
In other Warhammer 40K
news, THQ also announced that DLC would be arriving for the game in October which will add a co-op mode called "Exterminatus".
Now, before everyone begins to grouse about how they clearly cut out the DLC in order to get money out of you, you can stop right there, as the DLC will be free
"Exterminatus" is a stand alone co-op mode which "pits an elite squad of four Space Marines against hordes of alien enemies in a score based fight to the death". Three classes, Tactical Marine, Devestator, and Assault Marine, will be available to players, along with any weapons and perks associated with those classes.
Experience earned while playing in the two scenarios found in "Exterminatus", "Assault on Hab Center Areas" and "Escape from Kalkys Facility", will carry over into Space Marine
's multiplayer, meaning you can level up for MP while enjoying your co-op experience. Of course, XP earned in co-op will count toward your progression in that mode, as well.Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
will be available on September 6th in North America and September 9th in Europe in either the Standard or Collector's Edition
