Dead Island 2 gameplay trailer gives extended look at zombie slaughter

By Tom West,

Dead Island 2 is now, finally, almost here to play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and Dambuster Studios has given us a taste of what's to come via an extended gameplay trailer exploring a portion of Beverley Hills and Bel-Air.

Dambuster Studios has dropped a fresh gameplay video for Dead Island 2 ahead of its Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One launch on April 21st, showcasing the studio's proprietary FLESH engine in action.

Dead Island 2 extended gameplay trailer

Gore, so much gore. Dead Island 2 looks like it'll be giving us the tools we need to turn Hell-A into our personal playground of slaughter next month. The extended gameplay trailer above follows the Irish rockabilly Dani, one of the six playable Slayers, as she carves her way through the streets of Beverly Hills and Bel-Air, putting the Flesh engine to good use. Heads explode, limbs fly off, and zombies become even more dead as she uses a myriad of weapons to bring the pain.

While we see plenty of zombies being beaten to a pulp, the trailer also gives us a chance to see a portion of the world we'll be exploring, some of the unlockable skills in action, and the brutality we'll be able to inflict using the new Fury Mode.

We don't have long to wait until we find out if Dead Island 2 has what it takes to be one of the best Xbox zombie games. Will you be travelling to Hell-A to make the most of the end times in the sun? Drop down below and let us know!
