Exclusive: The Forest Cathedral achievements revealed

By Tom West,

The Forest Cathedral is set to bring its blend of first-person psychological thriller gameplay and puzzles to Xbox next week, and we can now exclusively reveal its achievements, courtesy of Whitethorn Games.

Coming from the mind of Where the Bees Make Honey developer Brian Wilson, The Forest Cathedral is a dramatic reimagining of conservationist Rachel Carson's research into the DDT pesticide. It's a first-person psychological thriller that implements 2D and 3D connected puzzles in a forest environment as you attempt to uncover the effects of DDT. Thanks to the folks at publisher Whitethorn Games, we can exclusively reveal The Forest Cathedral achievements ahead of its Xbox Series X|S launch on March 14th.

The Forest Cathedral is a reimagining of Rachel Carson's 1962 book, Silent Spring, which played an important role in the ban of pesticides including DDT and inspired the movement that led to the creation of the U.S Environmental Protection Agency. Carson was awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Jimmy Carter for her contributions.

"Whistleblower" Tell the world about the dangers of DDT 100
We'll need to earn all ten achievements to add the full 1,000 Gamerscore to our tags. We're particularly fond of Wilson's use of DDT's full name as an achievement name, "Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane" — extra points if you can pronounce it! It's a pretty varied list that'll have us exploring the events of Carson's Silent Spring book, from spraying DDT into swamps to telling the world about the pesticide's adverse effects. Using the little man to restore power to Mr. Valve sounds interesting too, so we'll look forward to learning about that one. While the list certainly looks to be straightforward and linked to the story's main plot points, we don't know how complex the puzzles themselves will be — make sure you bring your thinking cap!

The Forest Cathedral launches on March 14th for Xbox Series X|S as well as PC. Will you be following the story of Rachel Carson? Drop a comment below and let us know!
