Xbox sales: TA Team Picks (March 11th) By Tom West, 11 Mar 2023 FollowtopicsXbox Series X|SSaleTom West Microsoft has discounted a host of games on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC this week thanks to the Capcom, Family, and Simulator sales. Here are the games the TrueAchievements news team think are great.Between the Capcom Publisher Sale, Nacon Connect, Family Time Sale, and Simulator Sale, the Xbox Store has an abundance of games with discounted prices. Just like most other weeks, the Xbox Sales include games and DLC across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, so it's worth having a look to see if there is anything that takes your fancy. Once again, we've had a look through the selection of games on offer to recommend our personal favourites, so without further ado, here's what the TrueAchievements news team think are great bargains...Discounts from the bargain binLuke — SiltIt’s rare to see a game do so much with so little quite like Silt. The minute detail in the creepy underwater world is just remarkable, with masterful use of the monochrome palette lending the imposing and intriguing environments a real sense of depth and mystery. It’s a puzzle adventure of sorts, casting us as a curious nameless diver with the ability to possess some of the bizarre marine life you’ll find as you explore the depths and try to uncover the secrets of the deep. You might need to possess a school of tiny fish to squeeze through a tight gap, control a toothy piranha-like critter to chomp through some chains or cables, or even become one of the larger hammerhead-esque creatures to bash down a barrier… working out the intended sequence for each area can be a challenge when many other creatures and hazards want you dead, but it’s always rewarding to solve these self-contained subaquatic puzzles. You’ll likely be able to grab pretty much all of the Silt achievements in a single playthrough, and even the couple of missables aren’t too far out of the way, meaning the only troublesome achievement is the one for a full deathless run. There’s no health system here so there’s no safety net for this one, and some of the later areas pack in quite a few things that can easily kill you, so this might take a bit of doing. Thankfully, it’s a pretty short game (especially if you already know the trick to getting through each area), plus I imagine you could likely save-scum for it if you really wanted to, as with a lot of similar achievements. Silt is a striking adventure that has never been cheaper, so let’s bump that TA player count up a bit (it isn’t even at 400 players at the time of writing) and share some love for this beautifully bleak hidden gem of a game.SILTDive into SILT’s harrowing ocean abyss and unravel long-forgotten mysteries. Alien: Isolation is one of the scariest games that I have ever played — the tension, suspense, and awful atmosphere this game creates is simply unmatched. Set fifteen years after the events of Alien, you play as Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda who is trying to unravel the truth behind her mother’s disappearance. After arriving at the remote trading station Sevastopol where her mother’s ship, the Nostromo, has been recovered, the crew soon finds out there is something wrong and a creature is stalking them from the shadows. You can never outright kill the Alien in Isolation. You’re severely underpowered against such a beast, so you must use stealth and other tactics to get through the trading station. You are constantly being thrown into situations where you must outwit and escape the Alien, and if you’re like me, you’ll be spending a lot of your time in Isolation hiding under desks and in lockers, paralysed with fear, praying that the creature doesn’t threaten your safe space. Sure, the AI of the Alien can sometimes feel a bit unfair, but I never found it so much of a problem that I wanted to stop playing. If you still haven’t played the excellent survival horror experience that is Alien: Isolation, make sure you pick up Alien: Isolation - The Collection this week, which includes all DLC, for just $9.99/£8.99/€9.99. Oh, and have fun with the One Shot achievement!Alien: Isolation - The CollectionWinner of over 50 Game Of The Year awards. Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Contains the full game and seven packs of additional content: - Last Survivor and Crew Expendable (featuring the original AlienTM cast). - All five Survivor mode packs.$9.99$49.99£8.99£44.99€9.99€49.99$15.19$75.95$10.99$54.99R$47.99R$239.99Set price alertTom — Aliens: Fireteam EliteThis week I'm calling on Aliens: Fireteam Elite as my top pick, thanks to its fantastic portrayal of the franchise — and the beautiful sound of Pulse Rifles. It's a co-op third-person shooter that sees you and two other players attempt to uncover the mysteries of a new planet while fighting off Xenomorphs and Androids. Cold Iron Studios does a fantastic job of setting the scene in this game, and the sound effects are spot on. As a warning, though, be aware that you will need to purchase the Pathogen expansion if you hope to unlock all of the Aliens: Fireteam Elite achievements — the base list of which is a grind in itself. While you can play on your own on the lower difficulties, the experience really opens up when you're playing with some friends on the harder difficulties. I've played this with my brother on many occasions, and the rising pitch of panic in his voice as our defences crumble is worth every penny!Aliens: Fireteam EliteAliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival game set in the iconic Alien Universe.
