Beloved indie oddity Inscryption finally available on Xbox

By Luke Albigés,

Inscryption may look like a typical card-based roguelite, but there's more to this 2021 Devolver smash than meets the eye, and the less you know about it, the better. The achievements seem to agree, too, with most being secret...

Daniel Mullins' "inky black card-based odyssey" Inscryption launched on PC in late 2021 to a rapturous reception, with critics and players alike rushing to sing the game's praises without wanting to give too much away. Like Mullins' previous mind-melting wonder Pony Island, there are surprises galore here and all is not what it seems, and it's a wild ride that you really need to experience for yourself to fully appreciate. Now, after shadow-dropping on Xbox at last, Inscryption joins the ranks of the best roguelites on the system.

Given that the Xbox version of Inscryption dropped yesterday, we now have the Inscryption achievement list. There are 40 achievements worth a total of 1,000 Gamerscore, with a whopping 35 being secret (to reveal the details of the secret achievements, please use this link).

Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards...
