Six games already confirmed for Game Pass next month

By Luke Albigés,

Microsoft should soon be announcing the second wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for April — which we know will include the likes of The Last Case of Benedict Fox and Homestead Arcana — but what can we expect in May?

We already know about plenty of games coming to Game Pass in the coming months, with half a dozen of those set to arrive next month. Here's what's on the slate for Game Pass in May...

Redfall — May 2nd

Arkane's vampire-flavoured shooter is almost here, with the Redfall release date set for the first week of May. As we learned in our recent Redfall preview session, it plays out like a cross between Far Cry and Borderlands, albeit with a dash of the studio's unique world-building, particularly in key story locations and missions, and with flexible character skill trees meaning you can really make any of the four different vampire hunters your own. You'll be able to get cracking with the Redfall achievements on Xbox Series X|S and PC from May 2nd, with the game launching into Game Pass on both platforms on day one.

Ravenlok — May 4th

Echo Generation developer Cococucumber is set to bring its next game, magical adventure Ravenlok, to Game Pass in early May. It's described as a "cinematic 3D pixel fairy tale," with colourful cartoony visuals that use voxels of all shapes and sizes to give some elements a wonderful depth of detail while others use cruder shapes to lend a more Minecraft-esque blockiness. Ravenlok is the third game in Cococucumber's Voxel Trilogy, and will round things off by being the third to join Game Pass at launch when it lands on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on May 4th.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 — May 11th

There really aren't enough strategy games starring anthropomorphic cat children piloting massive tanks, so it's great to see current Game Pass gem Fuga: Melodies of Steel getting a sequel, and even greater to know that it'll be coming to Game Pass at launch. Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 looks set to expand on the first game's turn-based action, with new and reworked abilities as well as a new Judgment system that adds greater weight to choices made by changing up what skills leader Malt will be able to take into battle. There's also a somewhat less extreme alternative to the Soul Cannon — the original game's devastating weapon that requires one of the kids on the crew to be sacrificed to fire — in the Managarm, which will only temporarily incapacitate the crew member who uses it rather than killing them. Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is coming to Game Pass on May 11th... keep your eyes peeled in the next few weeks for news of whether the original might be leaving to make way for the new game, or if they'll be rumbling into battle together.

Amnesia: The Bunker — May 23rd

While recently struck with a minor strategic delay, Amnesia: The Bunker is still set to join Game Pass in May. Developer Frictional Games does great work in the horror space, with the likes of Soma and the previous Amnesia titles some of the best horror games on Xbox, so hopes are high that The Bunker will live up to the team's impressive benchmark. Check out our exclusive Amnesia: The Bunker interview while we wait for the new horror title to creep onto Game Pass for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on May 23rd.

Railway Empire 2 — May 25th

Railway Empire 2 will offer train-based simulation and management on a huge scale, with two gigantic maps spanning the entirety of the US and continental Europe and just waiting for you to fill them with tracks, stations, bridges, tunnels, and all the rest as you expand your operations across each continent. While not quite as hands-on as Game Pass' very own Train Sim World 3 in terms of the trains themselves, you'll still have 60 real world locomotives at your disposal so train buffs are unlikely to be disappointed when Railway Empire 2 chugs onto Xbox Series X|S and PC and joins Game Pass on May 25th.

Farworld Pioneers — May 30th

Starbound never made it onto console, but Farworld Pioneers looks like it could be the next best thing. Described as an "open-world, sci-fi sandbox," the game will let you do all the expected kinds of mining and crafting that creative titles like this typically do, this time on an intergalactic level. You'll be able to explore, build, and expand either on your own or on open multiplayer servers, where a dynamic faction system will keep things interesting as players on all sides compete to get their crew on top. There's also a Steam demo available if you play on PC and want to try our Farworld Pioneers ahead of the game coming to Game Pass on May 30th on both console and PC.

Which of these upcoming Game Pass titles will you be playing? Let us know down in the comments!
