Update:
Following a leak earlier in the week from Alan Wake's voice actor, Remedy has now announced that Alan Wake 2 will launch for Xbox Series X|S on October 17. Remedy also dropped a new trailer showcasing some gameplay and giving us our first proper look at the sequel.

Original Story:
While Remedy has previously confirmed that Alan Wake II will launch this year, Matthew Poretta appears to have narrowed down the sequel's release window a bit further.

Appearing on an episode of the Monsters, Madness, and Magic podcast, Porretta said that he believed Remedy was targeting an October release window for the sequel. "I've been working on it," Porretta said. "That's supposed to come out in October. We're in the middle of working on it now. In fact, I was just in Finland last week; that's where the company is from. Remedy, they're amazing people."

Remedy has been providing steady updates on Alan Wake 2's development in recent months. In February, CEO Tero Virtala revealed that the sequel was "playable from start to finish." Last month, Virtala stated that Remedy had entered "the last major phase of full production" on Alan Wake 2.
