Friday the 13th: The Game update seemingly resets some achievements

Friday the 13th: The Game's update, which levelled up all players, gave out Legendary Perks, and more, also seems to have affected at least one achievement. [updated]

Update: Following the Database Server Update, players are reporting issues with achievement progress, particularly for the A Ph.D. in Murder achievement, which asks you to perform every kill in the game at least once. In the Friday the 13th The Game forums alone, multiple people are reporting that while they've been boosted to level 150 as the update promised, their progress for this achievement has been reset to 1%, no matter how far along they were with it. Others are reporting issues with the Super Fan achievement (which asks you to play a multiplayer match as each one of the counselors) and the Jack of all Jasons achievement, for playing a multiplayer match as each one of the Jasons. Over on the Steam forums for the game, more players are noting issues with achievements which have a progress bar.

Friday the 13th: The Game will be delisted this year and its servers closed the next, so its latest update aims to give players "the best experience" before its "inevitable goodbye."

Friday the 13th: The Game update to level up players and more

Tomorrow, July 6, Friday the 13th: The Game will get an update for players which will level everyone up to level 150, unlock all kills and all challenge skulls, give out 30 Legendary Perks (with no negative effects and the best roll possible), and make it so that "no XP/CP earned," says Gun Interactive, explaining that the update is planned to "help reduce the dependence on database servers."

Gun's Wes Keltner adds, "This was the best way we knew how to give you, the players, the best experience and a heartfelt thank you, as we move towards an inevitable goodbye."

The "goodbye" in question comes with Friday the 13th: The Game's upcoming Xbox delisting and server closure. The game will be delisted from digital storefronts on December 31 2023, while its servers will close on December 31, 2024.
