Battlefield 3 Two-Disc Content Confirmed

By Rebecca Smith,
The fact that Battlefield 3 would not be on a single disc on the Xbox 360 has been known since images of the Steelbook version appeared online with space for two discs. What hadn't been confirmed is how the content would be split across the discs, but EA has now revealed these details, and the split may surprise you.

In a statement to Eurogamer, EA confirmed that disc one will include the multiplayer component, co-op levels and all of the information needed for HD installation. The second disc will include the single player campaign. Although the way that the content has been split is not surprising in itself, the fact that disc one contains the multiplayer component shows that EA and DICE are expecting gamers to spend the majority of their time on the multiplayer aspect of the game. The Battlefield franchise has always placed a firm emphasis on multiplayer gaming, and it looks like this game will not differ from that mindset.

Battlefield 3 is due to be released on October 25th in North America, October 27th in Australia, and October 28th in Europe. Check out the North American pre-order bonuses here. For the pre-order bonuses for the rest of the world and details of the Limited Edition, you need to visit this page.
