Last year's under-the-radar shooter, Metro 2033
, combined first person gunplay with the added emphasis on survival horror, which helped it earn somewhat of a cult following. The sequel, Metro: Last Light
isn't bound by the source material the first game followed - that being the award-winning Russian novel of the same name.
Though the game sequel won't follow the book sequel, one thing that will return to the series is what helped it stand out among other similar releases last year - the gloomy atmosphere. You can see the dark, brooding environments in this new batch of screenshots here:
Prep your gas masks. Metro: Last Light
is set to release sometime next year.
