Despite the Onechanbara
franchise originating on the Playstation 2, the series has since appeared on every current generation console with the exception of the Playstation 3. This looks set to continue, as the expected TGS 2011 announcement of the appearance of Onechanbara Z: Kagura
on the PS3 failed to materialise - the game remains an Xbox 360 exclusive.
The franchise's usual protagonist Aya is not the main focus of this latest offering from D3Publisher. Instead, vampire sisters Kagura and Saaya take the roles of the lead characters in the zombie and mutant slashing festivities. There's no need to panic though, they're still as scantily clad as Aya was previously, and there will still be plenty of blood.
Onechanbara Z: Kagura
is due to be released this Winter in Japan. The possibility of a release window for other regions has not been confirmed.
