Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Delayed

By litepink, 7 years ago
Although news has been trickling out about the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, including some gameplay footage a month and half ago, the game was a no-show at the recent Tokyo Game Show. This was unexpected, as the game had a late 2011 release window and TGS would be the proper place to show off the upcoming action-oriented spin-off Resident Evil game

While no reason was given, Capcom has told Kotaku that the suspicions raised about the TGS absence coincided with a delay. Capcom buys themselves a little more time by stating a "winter" release. In the games industry, winter technically runs from December 22nd until March 19th, so it's fair to say that we can expect Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City some time in early 2012.

Like any year, the holiday season is quite crowded. With the recent Games on Demand release of Resident Evil 4 HD (Xbox 360) and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X HD coming next week, Resident Evil fans should be able to wait for whatever Capcom is cooking up for Operation Raccoon City. Not to mention the countless other blockbusters vying for our money and attention.

As mentioned, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is now slated for Early 2012 release.
