Dead Space 3 Accidentally Confirmed? [RUMOR]

By Mark Delaney, 6 years ago
Though EA and Visceral Games would have to be crazier than Issac Clarke to not continue their award-winning survival horror series, Dead Space, confirmation of a forthcoming sequel has been - possibly til now - nonexistent.

An Israeli news show, The Headlines, was given a tour of EA Redwood Shores' offices a few days ago on the 17th, and while they were filming some footage, they may have caught a glimpse of a banner for Dead Space 3. An IGN reader sent in the video to IGN and since then, the rumors have been getting a lot of attention around the web.

EA responded quickly with the traditional "We don’t have any news about the Dead Space franchise at this time".

The footage could be a lot of different things. While it is clearly a "3" in the banner, the video could be doctored by someone. More attractively, it could be all part of a very elaborate viral marketing campaign on behalf of EA Redwood Shores. For now, we can't rule anything out.

Coincidentally, a year ago to the date, a developer at Visceral stated that they intend to make a third one, pending sales and fan support, and that they've "mapped out where [they'd] like to go with it", so it isn't a huge surprise to think a second sequel is on its way. EA has poured on the marketing for the series with books, action figures, movies, and comics all supplementing the Dead Space universe. But the news here is that it may have been prematurely revealed. We'll be sure to follow this very intriguing story as it develops.
