Doom & Destiny
was the fifth title released under the Indie Games Summer Uprising promotion.
Doom & Destiny is a conventional Japanese style RPG with an unconventional mood. Strange events bring four friends in a fantasy world made of cliche, strange people and a lot of humor. Help them in the battle against the evil villain and to find their way home.

I am going to be perfectly honest here, RPGs are not my favorite type of game to play. I've tried to get into them, I've tried lots of them, but I have played very few of them to the very end. I do appreciate the "chillax" mode this game offers, as that seems to be a bit more my speed for RPGs.
This game has several references to "nerd humor" such as letting players cast magic missile
, and over all the story seems coherent. Our heroes are on their way to a game of D&D when something goes terribly wrong, and they are transported to a world where they must fight an unnamed evil. Yes, this sounds fairly generic and cliched, but that seems to be the mood the game is going for.
You will be presented with many different locations from lava-filled dungeons to icy peaks. The battle system of the game encourages new strategies giving the player the ability to choose the party leader and simple battle tactics. Cast powerful fireballs with Nigel, quickly backstab unaware enemies with Francis, summon powerful Noodle Gods to heal your friends with Mike or slash your opponent to pieces with Johnny’s powerful sword.
Overall, this is a great, traditional RPG that features an easy-mode for those of you, like myself, who have struggled in the past with these types of games. You too, can cast magic missile
to your heart's content for 240 MSP
We will be covering all of the Summer Uprising titles over the next few weeks, but don't let that scare you away from submitting other titles you think are worthy of a Spotlight all to themselves. As always, you can submit any title directly via PM to mancide
