Atlus announced today that their upcoming fighting title, The King of Fighters XIII will not make its initially scheduled October launch window. Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atlus, gave the following statement explaining the delay:

While fans will initially be disappointed by the news that THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII is slightly delayed, the additional time will ensure that the game delivers on its promise of becoming the finest entry in the series' 15+ year history. KOF fans have tremendous expectations for this title, as do we. Our commitment is to nothing less than the very best THE KING OF FIGHTERS game ever, and all of our efforts and resources are dedicated to assisting developer SNK PLAYMORE to that end.
As a 'sorry' to fans who might be disappointed about the delay, Atlus has released a brand new trailer detailing "KOF XIII's extensive content additions, new features and modes, rebalanced and retooled gameplay".

If the above trailer isn't enough for you, then feel free to check out the slew of previously released character and moveset trailers.

The King of Fighters XIII will now be released on November 22nd in North America. A date was not noted for other regions. Head over here for details about the game's pre-order bonus.
