Need For Speed: The Run Demo Coming Soon

EA's next entry in the Need For Speed series is on its way this fall, but first you'll get to test drive it on Xbox LIVE. The demo will be released on October 18th - about a month before the game races into stores.

If you play the demo and, as EA puts it, "refer a friend", you'll get access to a Porsche 911 Carera S in the full game. Presumably, this "referring a friend" will work the same way it does on some of EA's other demos, like Madden for example. From the main menu you'll find the option to invite someone else to try it out and upon sending them the pre-canned message over Xbox LIVE, you would then have unlocked the car automatically when you go to play the retail release.

As for the demo itself, EA said you'll be seated in a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni as you race through a desert setting. Yeah, real subtle.

Look for Need For Speed: The Run when it releases this November 15th in North America, 17th in Australia, and 18th in Europe.
