Just over a year ago, at a Hasbro investor conference, Mark Blecher, SVP and General Manager of Digital Media & Gaming, revealed
that a sequel to 2010's Transformers: War For Cybertron
was in development, and was scheduled for a 2012 release.
Today via a Game Informer exclusive, High Moon Studios and Activision have revealed the first details of the upcoming release, to be titled Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
. The story will pick up where War for Cybertron
left off, with the Autobots and Decepticons fighting for control of their home planet Cybertron, and has been described as "a natural successor rather than a true sequel".
To find out more information, GameInformer.com
will be running a month long special. Revealing more details and assests every couple of days.
The November issue of Game Informer magazine, scheduled to hit news stands on October 11th, will also include 12 pages of story and gameplay explanations, screenshots and concept art, as well as dedicating it's front and back pages to the game, with two different covers available.
The first shows the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, with a long absent fan favourite, Grimlock.
The second, of which there will be a limited run, depicts a darker side that High Moon are hoping to bring to Fall of Cybertron
