Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL Announced

If you own a Nintendo 3DS, you may have seen or played Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion, a 2D fighting game featuring stars from today and years past of Cartoon Network. The game received mixed to negative reviews, but that wasn't enough to prevent Crave Games from revamping it and giving it the console treatment.

They're tacking on "XL" to the title to denote the inclusion of eight additional, but unannounced characters, bringing the game's roster to 26 familiar faces. The roster will span all eras of the network's history, from classic shows like Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, and Dexter's Laboratory to current favorites like Flapjack, Ben 10, and Chowder. It will also allow four player modes, though it isn't yet clear if that means local, online, or both. The game will be playable at New York City Comic-Con this week, October 13th to the 16th.

I know, I know. It's nearly identical to the Super Smash Bros. series. But that isn't to say the game can't be fun in its own way, right? Look for Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL this holiday season.
