Sonic Generations to Include Original Sonic

By Michelle Balsan,
Sega appears to be striking all the right chords with their upcoming Sonic Generations. We know already that we'll be seeing reimaginings of the franchise's Mega Drive, Dreamcast, and Modern Eras, but what about actually playing a classic game from that time? It's not that it's hard to boot up those good ol' XBLA titles (certainly more convenient than dragging out your retired Genesis/Master System), but wouldn't it be much more convenient if one of them, say, Sonic The Hedgehog (Arcade), was actually available in Sonic Generations itself?

Takashi Iizuka, who is producing the game, revealed during Paris Games week that the original Sonic the Hedgehog will be an unlockable title in Generations. Details as to how to unlock that game are not available at this point, but it's nice to know it's in there, isn't it?

Sonic Generations will be available November 1st in the US, November 3rd in Australia and November 4th in Europe. The limited edition of the game will only be available to those in Europe or Australia. Don't forget that you can try out the game's second demo, which has classic or modern Sonic speeding around the original title's Green Hill Zone, right here.
